ペンステモン・イートニイ [Index] [Back] アメリカの西部、カリフォルニア州からロッキー山脈に分布しています。砂漠や森林、林それに開けた高原に生え、高さは１メートルほどになります。葉は披針形から卵形で鋸歯はなく、そのほとんどが地面のそばの低いロゼットにあります。春の初めから中頃にかけて、高さ３０〜１２０センチになる真っ直ぐな花茎の上に、鮮やかな赤色の筒状花を咲かせます。 ゴマノハグサ科イワブクロ属の多年草で、学名は Penstemon eatonii。英名は Firecracker penstemon。 The firecracker penstemon (Penstemon eatonii) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It ia a perennial herb that is native to the western United States; from California to the Rocky Mountains. This herb grows in desert, woodland, forest, and open plateau, and it can reach about 1 m in height. The leaves are lancolate to ovate, untoothed, and most of them are arranged in a low rosette next to the ground.
