ペンステモン・プロケルス [Index] [Back] 北アメリカの西部、アラスカ州からカリフォルニア州、コロラド州それに東はカナダのマニトバ州まで分布しています。山地から亜高山帯、高山帯の草地や岩の多い斜面に生え、高さは４０センチほどになります。葉は披針形から卵形で全縁、多くが基部の周りにつきます。花は紫色から青色で、しばしば白色の咽があり、盛夏に咲きます。花序は筒状花の１個またはいくつかの集団で成り立っています。 ゴマノハグサ科イワブクロ属の多年草で、学名は Penstemon procerus。英名は Littleflower penstemon。 The littleflower penstemon (Penstemon procerus) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to western North America; from Alaska to California to Colorado, as far east in Canada as Manitoba. This herb grows in montane to subalpine to alpine meadows and rocky slopes, and it can reach 40 cm in height. The leaves are lanceolate to ovate, entire, and plentiful around the base of the plant. The flowers are purple to blue in color, often with a white throat, and bloom in mid summer.
