熱帯アメリカやアメリカのフロリダ南部が原産です。茎は蔓状で、やや匍匐して立ち上がります。倒卵形の葉は多肉質で、表面は滑らかな蝋質です。円柱状の穂状花序をつけ、小さな花を咲かせます。

コショウ科サダソウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Peperomia obtusifolia。英名は Blunt-leaved peperomia、Marble peperomia。

The Blunt-leaved peperomia (Peperomia obtusifolia) belongs to Piperaceae (the Pepper family). It is an evergreen perennial that is native to tropical America and southern Florida in the United States. The stem is vine-like and rises in a slightly creeping manner. The obovate leaves are fleshy with a smooth waxy surface. It produces cylindrical spikes with small flowers.
