アメリカ・オレゴン州南部からカリフォルニア州北部に分布しています。山地の蛇紋岩地に生え、高さは２０〜４０センチになります。全体にゴワゴワした腺毛に被われています。下部の葉は披針形で、ときおり小さな小葉に分かれています。上部の葉はより小さく、分裂しません。４月から９月ごろ、長く突き出した５個の雄しべのある、白色の花をサソリ状花序に咲かせます。

The serpentine phacelia (Phacelia corymbosa) belongs to Hydrophyllaceae (the Waterleaf family). It is a perennial herb that is native to southern Oregon and northern California. This herb grows in serpentine soils of mountains, and it can reach 20-40 cm in height. The whole plant is covered with glandular and stiff hairs. The lower leaves are lanceolate, sometimes divided into smaller leaflets. The upper leaves are smaller and generally undivided. The white flowers with five long protruding stamens, bloom in a scorpoid cyme from April to September.
