アメリカのコロラド州が原産です。高さは1〜3メートルほどになり、葉は楕円形で、「アメリカてまりしもつけ(Physocarpus opulifolius)」に比べて葉縁がなめらかです。5月から7月ごろ、散房花序をつけて白い花を咲かせます。 
バラ科テマリシモツケ属の落葉低木で、学名は Physocarpus bracteatus。英名は Colorado ninebark。 
The Colorado ninebark (Physocarpus bracteatus) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native to Colorado of the United States. This tree can reach 1-3 m in height. The leaves are elliptic and the margins are more smooth than the Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius). The corymbs are borne and bloom white flowers from May to July.
