ヨーロッパアルプスからアペニン山脈、フランスのセヴェンヌ地方それにピレネー山脈に分布しています。標高９００〜３６００メートルの高地草原に生え、高さは５〜２０センチになります。葉はほとんどイネ科の植物に似たかたちです。７月から８月ごろ、球形の頭状花序をだし、青紫色の花を咲かせます。

キキョウ科フィテウーマ属の多年草で、学名は Phyteuma hemisphaericum。英名はありません。

The Phyteuma hemisphaericum belongs to Campanulaceae (the Bellflower family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Alps, the Apennines, the Cevennes and the Pyrenees. This herb grows in upland meadows 900-3600 m elevation and can reach 5-20 cm in height. The leaves are nearly grass-like. The spherical capitulum is borne and the bluish-purple flowers bloom from July to August.
