ヨーロッパアルプスからアペニン山脈、バルカン半島に分布しています。標高３０００メートルほどの乾燥した草地に生え、高さは１５〜２５センチになります。基部の葉は披針形から心形で鋸歯と長い葉柄があります。上部の葉は細い披針形で葉柄がありません。夏に花茎を伸ばして、長い苞葉のある円筒形の花序に、青紫色の花を咲かせます。

キキョウ科フィテウーマ属の多年草で、学名は Phyteuma scheuchzeri。英名は Horned rampion。

The Horned rampion (Phyteuma scheuchzeri) belongs to Campanulaceae (the Bellflower family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from the European Alps to the Apennines and the Balkans. It grows in dry meadows at altitudes of up to 3000 m and is 15-25 cm tall. The basal leaves are lanceolate to heart-shaped with serrations and long petioles. The upper leaves are narrowly lanceolate and sessile. The flower stalks grow in summer and produce blue-purple flowers in cylindrical inflorescences with long bracts.
