The Pinguicula 'Smiling Beauty' (Pinguicula moctezumae x colimensis) belongs to Lentibulariaceae (the Bladderwort family). It is a perennial herb that is a hybrid between the Pinguicula moctezumae, which is native to the state of Sonora in central Mexico, and the Pinguicula colimensis, which is native to the states of Colima, Michoacan and Guerrero in southwestern Mexico. This is the same hybridization method as that used by Bob Beer to create the 'Pink Moon'. Meanwhile, Brambles Botanicals in Colorado, in the United States, also sells a plant with the same hybridization formula as 'cross #22037'. The details are unknown, but it seems that it is a name given by an importer in Japan, as it has not been registered as a cultivar. The leaves are long and narrow, and bright yellow-green in color. The flowers are large and pink, with contrasting white and pale yellow spurs.
