ピペル・アウリツム [Index] [Back] メキシコが原産です。葉は心形でベルベットのような質感、芳香があり長さは３０センチ以上になります。英名（Hoja santa）は、スペイン語で聖なる葉を意味します。また「メキシカンペッパーリーフ」とも呼ばれます。葉はメキシコ料理のタマーレスに使われます。 コショウ科コショウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Piper auritum。英名は Hoja santa。 The Hoja santa (Piper auritum) belongs to Piperaceae (the Pepper family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Mexico. The leaves are aromatic, heart-shaped, velvety and can reach up to 30 cm long. Hoja santa means "sacred leaf" in Spanish.
