南アフリカのケープ地方に分布しています。葉は多肉質で青緑色、長さ３〜６センチほどあり対生します。春に、直径６〜７センチほどのオレンジ色の花を咲かせます。和名では「ていぎょく（帝玉）」と呼ばれます。 |

ツルナ科プレイオスピロス属の常緑多年草で、学名は Pleiospilos nelii。英名は Split rock。 |

The Split rock (Pleiospilos nelii) belongs to Aizoaceae (the Ice plant family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed in the Cape region of South Africa. The leaves are fleshy, blue-green, 3-6 cm long, and grow in pairs. In spring, it produces orange flowers that are 6 to 7 cm in diameter. It is called "Teigyo" in Japanese. |
