The Split rock (Pleiospilos nelii) belongs to Aizoaceae (the Ice plant family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed in the Cape region of South Africa. The leaves are fleshy, blue-green, 3-6 cm long, and grow in pairs. In spring, it produces orange flowers that are 6 to 7 cm in diameter. It is called "Teigyo" in Japanese.
