Pleurothallis prolifera

The Pleurothallis prolifera belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from Brazil to Venezuela. It grows in rock crevices and on trees and is about 15 cm tall. In spring, it produces a strange inflorescence at the base of the leaves, with dark reddish-brown flowers. Each inflorescence has 8 to 10 small flowers. It looks like the back of a horse.
