プエルトリコやアンチル諸島に分布しています。高さは６〜７．５メートルになります。葉は倒卵状長楕円形で、長さは３０センチほどあり互生します。６月から１１月ごろ、茎頂に集散花序をだし、白い花を咲かせます。花冠の中心部は黄色です。和名では「しろばなインドそけい（白花インド素馨）」と呼ばれます。

キョウチクトウ科プルメリア属の常緑小高木で、学名は Plumeria alba。英名は White frangipani、Nosegay tree。

The White frangipani (Plumeria alba) belongs to Apocynaceae (the Dogbane family). It is a semi-tall evergreen tree that is native to Puerto Rico and the Antilles. This tree can reach 6-7.5 m in height. The leaves are obovate-oblong, about 30 cm long and alternate. The cymes are borne on the stem apices and bloom white flowers with a yellow throat from June to October.
