The Green purslane (Portulaca oleracea cv.) belongs to Portulacaceae (the Purslane family). It is a perennial herb that is a cultivar of "Green purslane" (distributed worldwidely from tropical areas to temperate areas). This herb is tolerant of high temperature and drought, continues to bloom bright-color flowers in summertime. The flowers last about one day, though they are open till late afternoon. The flower season is June to October. It is a C4 plant (Plants with C4-type photosynthesis).
