ヒマラヤの周辺に分布しています。標高１５００〜４１００メートルのところに生え、高さは５〜３０センチになります。葉は長楕円形から倒披針形で鋸歯があり、葉柄には翼があります。４月から７月ごろ、球状の花序をだして、紫色や白色の花を咲かせます。別名で「たまざきさくらそう（玉咲き桜草）」とも呼ばれます。

サクラソウ科サクラソウ属の多年草で、学名は Primula denticulata。英名はありません。

|
The Primula denticulata belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is distribured around the Himalaya. This herb grows in ighlands 1400-4100 m elevation and can reach 5-30 cm in height. The eaves are oblong to oblanceolate with serratus edges and winged petioles. It bears the spherical inflorescences and blooms purple or white flowers from April to July.
