The Primula x pubescens belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is a natural hybrid between Primula auricula and Primula hirsuta, which is distributed in the Alps of Europe. It grows on limestone ground and is about 10 cm tall. The leaves are spoon-shaped to obovate, forming a rosette, and are entirely covered with white powder. In early spring, it produces umbels with white, yellow, pink, red, purple, and brown flowers. Numerous garden varieties have been produced.
