ヨーロッパのアルプスなどに分布するアウリクラ種（Primula auricula）とヒルスタ種（Primula hirsuta）との自然交雑種です。石灰岩地に生え、高さは１０センチほどになります。葉はさじ形から倒卵形でロゼットを形成し、全体に白粉に被われます。早春に花茎を伸ばして散形花序をつけ、白色から黄色、ピンク色、赤色、紫色そして褐色などの花を咲かせます。数多くの園芸品種も作出されています。 |

The Primula x pubescens belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is a natural hybrid between Primula auricula and Primula hirsuta, which is distributed in the Alps of Europe. It grows on limestone ground and is about 10 cm tall. The leaves are spoon-shaped to obovate, forming a rosette, and are entirely covered with white powder. In early spring, it produces umbels with white, yellow, pink, red, purple, and brown flowers. Numerous garden varieties have been produced. |
