マレーシアからフィリピンが原産です。高さは１メートルほどになり、光沢のある卵形の葉が対生します。周年、長い筒部と先端が５裂して平開する花を咲かせます。花冠は白色の地に赤紫色の斑があります。

キツネノマゴ科プセウデランテムム属の常緑小低木で、学名は Pseuderanthemum bicolor（syn. Eranthemum bicolor）。英名は Bicolor false eranthemum、Shooting star。

The Bicolor false eranthemum (Pseuderanthemum bicolor) belongs to Acanthaceae (the Acanthus family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Malaysia and the Philippines. It grows to about 1 m tall and has glossy, ovate leaves that grow in pairs. It produces flowers that open flat with a long tube and five lobes at the tip every year. The corolla is white with reddish purple spots.
