ヨーロッパから西アジアに分布しています。葉は卵形から狭披針形で斑があり、ロゼットを形成します。早春、茎の先端にさそり状集散花序をだし、漏斗形の紫色から藤色、青色たまに白色などの花を咲かせます。
写真上・中１〜２は園芸品種の「スモーキーブルー（cv. Smoky Blue）」、中３・下は「オパール（cv. Opal）」。

ムラサキ科プルモナリア属の多年草で、学名は Pulmonaria sp. (属の総称)。英名は Lungworts。

The lungworts (Pulmonaria sp.) belongs to Boraginaceae (the Borage family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe and western Asia. The leaves are spotted ovate to narrowly lanceolate and arranged in rosettes. The scorpioid cymes with bracts are borne on the terminal stems and bloom funnel-shaped, purple, violet or blue or sometimes white flowers in early spring. The 1st to 3rd photos are a cultivar 'Smoky Blue' and 4th to 5th are a cultivar 'Opal'.
