中国南部からビルマ、タイに分布しています。標高３００〜８００メートルの山地に生え、樹木や岩上に着生します。茎は円柱状で、帯状の葉が２列につきます。冬の終わりから春にかけて、葉腋から長い花茎を伸ばして、淡い青色の花を１５個ほど咲かせます。花冠の直径は３センチほどで、唇弁は紫色をしています。中国語では「小藍万代蘭（xiao lan wan dai lan）」と呼ばれます。

ラン科ヒスイラン属の常緑多年草で、学名は Vanda coerulescens。英名は Sky blue vanda。

The Sky blue vanda (Vanda coerulescens) belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from southern China to Burma and Thailand. It grows in mountainous areas at elevations of 300 to 800 m and attaches itself to trees and rocks. The stem is cylindrical with two rows of strap-shaped leaves. From late winter to spring, long flower scapes grow from the leaf axils and produce about 15 pale blue flowers. The corolla is about 3 cm in diameter and the labellum is purple. In Chinese, it is called "小藍万代蘭" (xiao lan wan dai lan).
