ロシアのシベリア地方、バイカル湖周辺のイルクーツク州およびブリヤート共和国に分布しています。草地や岩礫地などに生え、高さは５〜１０センチになります。葉は卵形から長楕円形で葉柄があり、縁には鈍鋸歯があります。春に花茎を伸ばして薄紫色の花を咲かせます。

スミレ科スミレ属の多年草で、学名は Viola alexandrowiana。英名はありません。

The Viola alexandrowiana belongs to Violaceae (the Violet family). It is a perennial herb that is native to around the Baikal; Irkutsk Oblast and the Republic of Buryatia. This herb grows in grasslands or screes and it can reach 5-10 cm in height. The leaves are ovate to obling with petioles and obtuse serrated edges. The pale purple flowers bloom atop of flowering stalks in spring.
