ブラジルのエスピリト・サント州からリオデジャネイロ州が原産です。熱帯雨林に生え、樹木の幹などに着生します、葉は広い剣状で、ロゼットの直径は１メートルほどになります。葉は淡緑色の地に濃緑色の縦脈が入り、さらに縞模様が不規則に入ります。長さ６０センチくらいになる花茎を伸ばして、淡い黄色の花苞と花弁のある花を咲かせます。

パイナップル科インコアナナス属の常緑多年草で、学名は Vriesea fenestralis。英名はありません。

The Vriesea fenestralis belongs to Bromeliaceae (the Pineapple family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to the Brazilian states of Espirito Santo to Rio de Janeiro. It grows in tropical rainforests and attaches itself to tree trunks, etc. The leaves are broadly sword-shaped, and the rosette can be up to 1 meter in diameter. The leaves are light green with dark green longitudinal veins and irregular stripes. The flower stalks grow to about 60 cm long and produce pale yellow flowers with bracts and petals.
