ブラジルが原産です。高さは３０センチほどになり、群落を形成します。葉は楕円形で先が尖り不揃い、葉柄は紫色で毛に被われています。葉の表面は濃い緑色で銀白色の縞があり、裏面は暗い緑色から灰緑色をしています。短い花茎の先端に、褐色の苞葉に包まれた白色または淡黄色の筒状花を咲かせます。 |

クズウコン科カラテア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Calathea taeniosa (syn. Goeppertia widgrenii)。英名はありません。 |

The Calathea taeniosa belongs to the family Marantaceae. It is an evergreen herb that is native to Brazil. It grows to about 30 cm tall and forms clumps. The leaves are elliptic, pointed and irregular, and the petiole is purple and covered with hairs. The leaf surface is dark green with silvery white stripes, and the underside is dark green to grayish green. White or pale yellow tubular flowers, surrounded by brown bracts, are produced at the tips of short flower stalks. |
