ヨーロッパの中・北部からシベリアに分布しています。石灰岩質の草地に生え、高さは６０〜１００センチになります。葉は卵形で互生し、茎を抱きます。６月から７月ごろ、茎頂や葉腋に花序をだし、紫色の星形の花を咲かせます。園芸上は、「ほしざきカンパニュラ（星咲きカンパニュラ）」とも呼ばれます。

キキョウ科ホタルブクロ属の多年草で、学名は Campanula glomerata。英名は Clustered bellflower。

The Clustered bellflower (Campanula glomerata) belongs to Campanulaceae (the Bellflower family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from central and north Europe to Siberia. This herb grows in grasslands on calcareous soils and can reach 60-100 cm in height. The leaves are ovate, alternate and enfold stems. The clusters are borne on stem apices or axiles and bloom purple star-shaped flowers from June to July.
