中国の南部が原産だとされていますが、中国では自生種が発見されていません。したがって中国植物志には掲載されていません。高さは１．５〜２．４メートルになり、幹は弓なりになります。葉は楕円形から広楕円形で、縁には鋸歯があります。冬から早春にかけて、柔らかいピンク色の花を咲かせます。花の花弁は６〜８個あり、わずかに芳香があります。

ツバキ科ツバキ属の常緑低木で、学名は Camellia rosiflora。英名はありません。

The Camellia rosiflora belongs to Theaceae (the Tea family). It is a small evergreen tree that is believed to be native to southern China, but no native species has been found in China. Therefore, it is not listed in the Flora of China. It grows 1.5 to 2.4 m tall and has an arching trunk. The leaves are elliptic to broadly elliptic with serrated edges. Soft pink flowers bloom from winter to early spring. The flowers have 6 to 8 petals and are slightly fragrant.
