ペルーからボリビア、チリの北部に分布しています。アンデス山脈の３０００メートル以上の山地に生え、高さは１．８〜３メートルほどになります。幹は直立し、枝は弓なりになります。葉は小さな卵形で、灰緑色をしています。晩春に、長い釣鐘状で赤色や橙赤色の花を咲かせます。ボリビアの国花で「カントゥータ（Cantuta）」と呼ばれています。 |

ハナシノブ科カンツア属の常緑低木で、学名は Cantua buxifolia。英名は Magic flower、Sacred flower of the Incas。 |

The Magic flower (Cantua buxifolia) belongs to Polemoniaceae (the Phlox family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed from Peru to Bolivia and northern Chile. It grows in the Andes mountains above 3000 m and reaches a height of 1.8 to 3 m. The trunk is erect and the branches are arching. The leaves are small, ovate, and gray-green in color. In late spring, it produces long, bell-shaped, red or orange-red flowers. It is the national flower of Bolivia and is called "Cantuta". |
