The gamboge (Garcinia xanthochymus) belongs to the Clusiaceae family. It is a semi-tall evergreen tree that is distributed from southern India to the Malay Peninsula. It is close to "Mangosteen", the height is 9-12 m. The leaves are oblong, glossy on the surface, and drooping. The white flowers bloom, they will become fruit of about tennis ball. The fruits ripen yellow, and are used for raw eating and jam.
