ヨーロッパの中央部から東部に分布しています。日陰を好み、高さは２０〜４０センチになります。茎葉は３個の掌状複葉が３個輪生状に配列されています。中央の小葉は楕円形で、外側の小葉は披針形で非対称、縁には鋸歯があります。４月から６月にかけて、白色から淡い黄白色の４弁花を、茎頂の総状花序に咲かせます。果実は長角果です。種小名は、ギリシャ語の「ennea (nine)」＋「phyllos (leaf)」を意味します。

The Nine-leaved toothwort (Cardamine enneaphyllos) belongs to Brassicaceae (the Mustard family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in central and eastern Europe. It prefers shade and grows 20-40 cm tall. The cauline leaves are arranged in a whorl of three palmate compound leaves. The central leaflet is elliptic, and the outer leaflets are lanceolate and asymmetrical with serrated edges. 4-petaled white to pale yellowish-white flowers bloom in racemes at the top of the stem from April to June. The fruit is a long-horned berry. The specific epithet means "ennea" (nine) + "phyllos" (leaf) in Greek.
