アフリカの南部からアンゴラにかけて分布しています。放牧地や道ばたなどに生え、高さは１０〜１５センチになります。ほふく枝を伸ばして広がります。葉は三出葉で、くさび状倒卵形からくさび状長楕円形の小葉がつきます。５月から６月ごろ、直径３センチ以上の球状花序に、ピンク色の花を咲かせます。

The Burchell's clover (Trifolium burchellianum) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a perennial herb that is native to southern Africa and Angola. This herb grows in grazing lands and roadsides, and can reach 10-15 cm in height. It spreads by stolons. The leaves are trifoliate with cuneate-obovate to cuneate-oblong leaflets. The pink flowers bloom in the globose inflorescence, up to 3 cm across, from May to June.
