中央ヨーロッパに分布しています。山地帯から亜高山帯の草地や林縁に生え、高さは８０センチほどになります。葉は披針形で互生します。７月から８月ごろ、茎頂に淡い赤紫色の頭花を咲かせます。総苞片の先端は反り返り、縁は黒褐色をしています。果実は痩果で長さ３〜３．５ミリ、冠毛は長さ０．８〜１．５ミリです。

キク科ヤグルマギク属の多年草で、学名は Centaurea pseudofrigia (syn. Centaurea phrygia ssp. pseudophrygia)。英名はありません。

The Centaurea pseudofrigia belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Central Europe. It grows in meadows and forest margins in montane to subalpine zones and grows to about 80 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate and alternate. The pale reddish-purple flower-heads bloom at the top of the stem from July to August. The tips of the bracts are recurved, and the edges are blackish brown. The fruit is a achene 3 to 3.5 mm long with pappus 0.8 to 1.5 mm long.
