ヨーロッパと北アメリカに分布しています。山地から高山帯の草地に生え、高さは５〜１０センチになります。葉は披針形で対生します。６月から８月ごろ、小さな白色の５弁花を咲かせます。花弁の先は深く切れ込みが入り、２個の丸い裂片になります。

ナデシコ科ミミナグサ属の多年草で、学名は Cerastium arvense ssp. strictum。英名は Field mouse-ear chickweed。

The field mouse-ear chickweed (Cerastium arvense ssp. strictum) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe and North America. This herb grows in montane to alpine meadows and can reach 5-10 cm in height. The leaves are lanceolate and opposite. The small white flowers with 5 petals come in June to August. The petal tips are deeply notched into 2 round lobes.
