The New South Wales Christmas bush (Ceratopetalum gummiferum) belongs to the family Cunoniaceae. It is a small evergreen tree that is found in New South Wales, Australia. It grows in rainforests and light forests on the eastern side of the Great Dividing Range and grows up to 10 m tall. The leaves are 7 cm long, trifoliate, with narrow oblong leaflets that are finely serrated. New leaves are often pink or bronze in color. Small white flowers, about 1 cm in diameter, bloom in late spring. After flowering, around Christmas, the calyx enlarges to a deep red color and the entire tree becomes reddish.
