The Turk's turba (Clerodendrum indicum) belongs to Verbenaceae (the Verbena family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to the Malay Archipelago. It is now widely planted and naturalized in South America, the West Indies, and the southern United States. It has hollow stems and grows 1.8 to 2.7 m tall. The leaves are elliptic, with short petioles and arranged in four whorled. The snow-white tubular flowers, about 10 cm long, are produced in an inflorescence at the end of the stem. The fruit is a kernel with a dark metallic blue color.
