台湾および中国の雲南・四川・湖北省からヒマラヤに広く分布しています。蔓性で他の樹木などによじ登り、長さは５〜１０メートルになります。晩春から初夏にかけて、白い花を咲かせます。花色がピンク色のものは、「ルーベンス（Clematis montana var. rubens）」と呼ばれます。台湾華語では「繍球藤」、中国語では「綉球藤（xiu qiu teng）」です。 写真中４・中５は、園芸品種の「プリムローズスター（cv. Primrose Star）」。 |

キンポウゲ科センニンソウ属の落葉多年草で、学名は Clematis montana。英名は Anemone clematis、Indian's virgin's bower。 |

The Anemone clematis (Clematis montana) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a deciduous perenial herb that is widely distributed in Taiwan and China from Yunnan, Sichuan, and Hubei provinces to the Himalayas. This herb is a vine, climbs up adjacent trees, and can reach 5-10 m long. The white flowers bloom from late spring to early summer. The pink flower color variety is called "Rubens". In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "繍球藤", and "綉球藤" (xiu qiu teng). |
