コドナンテ属はブラジルを中心に２０種ほどがあります。細い茎が垂れ下がり半蔓性です。濃緑色の葉は長卵形で光沢があり、縁がやや赤味を帯びます。漏斗状の白い花を咲かせ、花後にはオレンジ色の丸い果実をつけます。

イワタバコ科コドナンテ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Codonanthe digna。英名はありません。

The Codonanthe digna belongs to Gesneriaceae (the African violet family). The genus Codonante has about 20 species, mainly from Brazil. It is an evergreen perennial herb that is semi-vining with drooping thin stems. The dark green leaves are long ovate and shiny with slightly reddish edges. It produces funnel-shaped white flowers, followed by round orange fruits.
