アフリカの西部、ガンビアからギニア、ガーナに分布しています。蔓性で、他の樹木などに絡んで伸び、長さは６メートルほどになります。葉は濃緑色の長楕円形で、羽状複葉のように対生します。枝の上部の葉腋から、長い花梗のある花序をだし、鮮やかな朱赤色の花を咲かせます。 |

The Combretum grandiflorum belongs to the Combretaceae family. It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed in western Africa, from Gambia to Guinea and Ghana. It is a vine that grows up to 6 m long, twining around other trees and plants. The leaves are dark green, oblong, and arranged in pairs like pinnate compound leaves. Inflorescences with long flower stalks emerge from the leaf axils at the top of the branches, producing bright vermilion-red flowers. |
