The Coralberry (Symphoricarpos orbiculatus) belongs to Caprifoliaceae (the Honeysuckle family). It is a deciduous shrub that is distributed in the eastern and central United States, central Canada, and northeastern Mexico. It grows in open forests, thickets, and along riversides, and grows to about 1.8 m tall. The stems are erect and well branched. From April to September, greenish-white bell-shaped flowers bloom in inflorescences at the ends of branches. The fruit is a reddish purple drupe. The fruit is a winter food for birds, including the Bobwhite and the America robin.
