コスツス・スピカツス [Index] [Back] 熱帯アメリカが原産です。高さは１８０〜２１０センチになります。葉は螺旋状につきます。短い円筒状の赤い苞に包まれた花序をだし、赤橙色の花を咲かせます。苞は長く残ります。アリとの共生関係があります。 ショウガ科ホザキアヤメ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Costus spicatus。英名は Spiral flag、Spiral ginger。 The spiral flag (Costus spicatus) belongs to Zingiberaceae (the Ginger family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to tropical America. This herb can reach 180-210 cm in height. The leaves are spirally arranged. It is borne a short cylindrical red bracts with red-orange flowers, and long lasting.
