アフリカ南西部、とくに南アフリカに広く分布しています。低木帯の砂地や石の多い土に生え、高さは１メートルほどになります。葉は線形から広楕円形で多肉質、粗い鋸歯があります。茎頂の散形花序に、広筒状の橙色から赤色の花を下向きに咲かせます。

ベンケイソウ科コチレドン属の常緑小低木で、学名は Cotyledon orbiculata var. higginsiae (syn. Cotyledon orbiculata)。英名はありません。

The Cotyledon orbiculata var. higginsiae belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen shrub that is widely distributed in southwestern Africa, especially in South Africa. It grows in sandy or stony soil in the scrub zone and grows to about 1 m tall. The leaves are linear to broadly elliptic, fleshy, and coarsely serrated. The broadly tubular orange to red flowers bloom downward in umbels at the stem apex.
