The Red pagoda (Crassula capitella ssp. thyrsiflora) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is a perennial evergreen herb that is distributed in southern Africa from South Africa to Namibia. It grows on dry, rocky slopes and other areas and grows to a height of about 40 cm. The leaves are triangular, fleshy, pinkish-red, and pile up in a pagoda-like shape. From summer to fall, small white flowers bloom at the tips of unbranched spikes.
