The small crowea (Crowea exalata) belongs to Rutaceae (the Citrus family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed to Victoria, New South Wales, and southeastern Queensland in Australia. This shrub grows in forests and can reach about 1 m in height. The leaves are narrow oblong to narrow ovate. The pink, small, five petaled flowers bloom in the axils of the leaves during most months of the year. In Japan, it is distributed under the name "Southern Cross".
