オーストラリアの東部、ニューサウスウェールズ州の中部に分布しています。海岸沿いのまばらな林に生え、潅木状で高さは１メートルほどになります。葉は披針形から槍形で、長さは８センチほどあり、表面には油点があります。夏の終わりから冬にかけて、星形をした淡いピンク色からピンク色の花を咲かせます。わが国では「サザンクロス」という名前で流通しています。

ミカン科クロウエア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Crowea saligna。英名は Willow-leaved crowea。

The willow-leaved crowea (Crowea saligna) belongs to Rutaceae (the Citrus family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed to eastern Australia; central New South Wales. This shrub grows in sparse forests along the coast and is shrub-like and up to a height of about 1 m. The leaves are lanceolate to spear-shaped, about 8 cm long, with oil spots on the surface. The star-shaped pale pink to pink flowers come in bloom from late summer to winter. In Japan, it is distributed under the name "Southern Cross".
