南アフリカの東ケープ地方に分布しています。海岸地帯の砂丘に生え、高さは１５〜３０センチになります。葉は多肉質の長い剣状で、ロゼット状にひろがります。濃緑色の葉には白い斑点が目立ちます。春に花茎をのばして、基部がオレンジ色で上部がクリーム色と緑色の筒状花を咲かせます。

ユリ科ガステリア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Gasteria acinacifolia（syn. Gasteria candicans、Gasteria acinacifolia var. venusta）。英名はありません。

Gasteria acinacifolia belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. This herb grows in the sand dunes of the coastal area and can reach 15-30 cm in height. The leaves are long, fleshy, sword-shaped and spread out like rosettes. White spots stand out on the dark green leaves. The flower stalks are extended to bloom tubular flowers with an orange base and cream and green tops in the spring.
