南アフリカのケープ地方に分布しています。茎は短く、厚くて硬い多肉質の葉がロゼット状につきます。濃緑色の葉には白い斑紋があります。園芸上では「とらほこ（虎鉾）」と呼ばれます。 |

ユリ科ガステリア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Gasteria caespitosa。英名は Pencil-leaf gasteria。 |

The Pencil-leaf gasteria (Gasteria caespitosa) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed in the Cape region of South Africa. It has short stems and a rosette of thick, stiff, fleshy leaves. The dark green leaves have white patches. In horticulture, it is called "Tora-hoko" (tiger's spear) in Japan. |
