The Dutchman's pipe cactus (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is a columnar cactus that is distributed in Central America, from Mexico to Costa Rica. The stem is woody at the base and its height is 2-3 m. It is a member of the columnar cactus, but its stem segments have changed into a thin leaf shape. It will bloom for about 2 hours in the evening from June to September. Flowers have a strong fragrance, which attracts fellows of moths that mediate pollination.
