グロブラリア属は地中海沿岸からヨーロッパに固有の植物です。このコルディフォリア種はアルプスからアペニン山脈、セベンヌ山脈それにピレネー山脈に分布しています。高山帯の草地に生え、高さは３〜１０センチほどになります。葉は皮質の卵形で、根生します。夏に花茎を伸ばして、球形花序に青紫色の花を咲かせます。

グロブラリア科グロブラリア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Globularia cordifolia。英名は Matted globularia。

The Globularia is an endemic genus to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean Sea and Europe. The matted globularia is native to the Alps, the Apennine, the Cevennes and the Pyrenees mountains. This herb grows in alpine grasslands and can reach 3-10 cm in height. The leaves are leathery ovate and basal. The bluish purple flowers come in the spherical inflorescence in summer.
