ヨーロッパに分布しています。山地の草地や岩場に生え、高さは１０〜１５センチほどになります。茎は匍匐して広がり、葉は青緑色で線形から披針形です。晩春から夏にかけて、小さな白い花を咲かせます。花がピンク色の品種もあります。

ナデシコ科カスミソウ属の多年草で、学名は Gypsophila repens。英名は Creeping babys breath。

The creeping babys breath (Gypsophila repens) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Europe. This herb grows in grasslands and on rocks in the mountains and can reach 10-15 cm in height. The stems are crawling and spread, and the leaves are turquoise and linear to lanceolate. The small white flowers come in late spring and summer. Some varieties have pink flowers.
