わが国の本州、関東地方から近畿地方の太平洋側と四国山地に分布しています。草原や林縁に生え、高さは５０〜１８０センチになります。葉は３全裂または３深裂します。８月から１０月ごろ、散房花序をだし、紫色の花を咲かせます。名前は、河内（大阪府）の金剛山で発見されたことから。

キンポウゲ科トリカブト属の多年草で、学名は Aconitum grossedentatum。英名はありません。

"Kawachi-bushi" (Aconitum grossedentatum) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Japan and distributed along the Pacific side of the country, westward from the Kanto to the Kinki district and the mountains of Shikoku. This herb grows in fields or forest edges and can reach 50-180 cm in height. The leaves are tri-dissected or deeply trilobate. Purple flowers are borne on corymbs and bloom from August to October. The Japanese name is derived from the place where Kawachi-bushi was discovered-Kongo mountain in Kawachi (the old name of Osaka). (edit by Greg Brockelbank)
