わが国の北海道や本州の長野・埼玉県に分布する「えんびせんのう（Lychnis wilfordii）」の近縁種です。花はやや大きく朱赤色で、花弁の先の「燕尾」部分が丸いのが特徴です。詳細な情報がなく、なぜ「からふと（樺太）」なのか、種名もまだ確定されていないようです。

ナデシコ科センノウ属の多年草で、学名は Lychnis sp.（未確定）。英名はありません。

"Karafuto-enbi-senno" (Lychnis sp.) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is a related species of "Enbi-senno" (Lychnis wilfordii). "Enbi-senno" is distributed in Hokkaido, Nagano prefecture and Saitama perefecture of Honshu in Japan. The flowers are relatively large, vermillion-red with round forked tips. We have not more information.
