わが国の本州から四国・九州に分布しています。山地の木陰に生え、高さは３０〜７０センチになります。茎は分枝せず、葉は卵状長楕円形で縁に粗い鋸歯があり、茎の中部に集まってつきます。９月から１１月ごろ、茎の上部に白色の頭花を咲かせます。頭花は１０個ほどの筒状花からなり、花冠の先端が５裂して反り返ります。

キク科コウヤボウキ属の多年草で、学名は Pertya robusta。英名はありません。

The "Kashiwaba-haguma" (Pertya robusta) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan. This herb grows in mountainous tree-shaded areas, and it can reach 30-70 cm in height. The stem is not branched. The leaves are ovate-oblong with coarse toothed edges, and arranged intensively on the middle of stem. The white flower-heads bloom atop of stem from September to November. The flower-head consists of about ten tubular flowers, and the tips of corolla are five partite and reflexed.
