からこんてりぎ (唐紺照り木) [Index] [Back] わが国の南西諸島、屋久島から沖永良部島、それに台湾や中国東南部、フィリピンに分布しています。山地の林内に生え、高さは１〜４メートルになります。葉は長楕円状披針形から長楕円形で対生し、光沢があります。３月から８月ごろ、枝先の散形花序または亜散房花序に白色の花を咲かせます。白色の花弁状の萼片が目立つのは無性花です。別名で「たいわんときわあじさい（台湾常磐紫陽花）」とか「とからあじさい（吐カ喇紫陽花）」と呼ばれます。 アジサイ科アジサイ属の常緑低木で、学名は Hydrangea chinensis。英名はありません。 "Kara-kon-terigi" (Hydrangea chinensis) belongs to Hydrangeaceae (the Hydrangea family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed in the Southwest Islands of Japan, from Yaku Island to Okino-erabu Island and Taiwan, southeastern China and Philippine. This tree grows in montane forests and can reach 1-4 m in height. The leaves are oblong-lanceolate to oblong, glossy and opposite. The umbels or subcorymbs are borne on the terminal branchlets, and bloom white flowers in March to August.
