The donkey ears (Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to Madagascar. The leaves are green-gray, about 50 cm long, with brown stripes. The offspring grow from the edge of this leaf that crawling on the ground. The whole plant is covered densely with vellus hairs. The bell-shaped flowers, which are a mixture of red and yellow-green, hang down and bloom.
