マダガスカルが原産です。葉は緑灰色で、長さが５０センチほどになり、褐色の縞模様がはいります。地面に這った、この葉の縁から子株ができて増えていきます。全体に軟毛が密生します。赤と黄緑色が混ざったベル形の花を下垂して咲かせます。 |

ベンケイソウ科リュウキュウベンケイ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri。英名は Donkey ears、Big ears。 |

The donkey ears (Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to Madagascar. The leaves are green-gray, about 50 cm long, with brown stripes. The offspring grow from the edge of this leaf that crawling on the ground. The whole plant is covered densely with vellus hairs. The bell-shaped flowers, which are a mixture of red and yellow-green, hang down and bloom. |
